Ruth M. Trenchard, 91, of Montour Falls, passed away on Monday, October 8, 2018. She was born in Penn Yan on February 21, 1927, the daughter of the late John and Esther (Robbins) Hopper. Ruth enjoyed reading, puzzles, and collecting bird houses. She was predeceased by her husband, Harland Trenchard, Sr., daughters, Gloria Legare and Dixie Trank, and granddaughter, Shannon Brutcher. She is survived by her children, Tom (Sue) Trank, Susan Trank, Ruthie Trank, John Trank, Ruth Columbus, Patricia Trenchard, Harland Trenchard, and Carol (Chuck) Allen; half sister, Esther Comfort; grandchildren, Robert, Rhonda, Stephanie, Garrett, Shondra, Ryan, Eric, Kelly, Chris, and Andy; and by several great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Montour Cemetery (upper entrance), Mill St., Montour Falls. There will be no calling hours.
