Sherri L. Boughton, 47, of Horseheads, passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Elmira, NY on June 24, 1974, the daughter of Roger W. and Bonnie E. (Loveless) Smalley. Sherri graduated from Odessa-Montour High School in 1993 and later from Corning Community College in 1996 with an Associates Degree in Accounting. Sherri married Bruce E. Boughton, II on September 13, 1997 in Odessa, NY. She was a member of Elmwood Ave. Baptist Church in Elmira Heights. Sherri is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Bruce; daughter, Mikayla; son, William; parents, Roger and Bonnie Smalley of Alpine; and sister, Brenda and Brett Reynolds of Alpine along with nephew and niece Caleb and Cara Reynolds who always had a special place in her heart. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 from 4-7 pm at Vedder-Scott & Zinger Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls. Sherri's funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Sherri's memory to an account at Chemung Canal Trust Company in the name of Bruce in trust for the kids for future expenses.
