Signa Mae Bauman, age 93, of Watkins Glen, passed away peacefully on October 2 at Athens Health & Rehabilitation Center in Athens, PA. Signa was born in Montour Falls, NY, on June 28, 1932, to Signa Coykendall Eggersdorf and Frank Eggersdorf. She was pre-deceased by her husband of 66 years, Gordon Bauman, and her ten older siblings. She is survived by her three children, Lawrence Bauman, Donna Bauman, and Thomas Bauman (Donna Crippen), and eight grandchildren: Bailey Hughes, Erica Hughes, Kevin Bauman, Colin Bauman, Kyle Bauman, Carrie Bookheimer, Audrey (Bauman) Sessaman, and Charles Bookheimer.

Signa was a graduate of Watkins Glen High School and retired from Chemung Canal Trust Company in 1991 after a long career as a bank courier. Her passions included reading (especially biographies), baking, and animals. Affectionately referred to as a 'pistol' by the nursing home staff, family and friends will remember her feisty, outspoken nature and funny quotable lines.

There will be no visitation; a private burial will take place in Montour Falls Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Schuyler County, 124 Marina Dr., Montour Falls, NY 14865.
