Thalia R. Harrington, 96, died June 15, 2017, at Olde Knox Commons in Huntersville, NC. Born July 20, 1920, she lived the first 88 years of her life in New York's Southern Tier and the last 9-1/2 years in NC to be close to son Jim. Thalia was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Fern-Tyrone Chapter 142, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Central NY Firemen's Association, and the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 676. She belonged to the Odessa-Catharine United Methodist Church, the local chapter of Red Hats, and volunteered at the Schuyler Hospital gift shop. She is survived by sons Jim (Betsy) and Dennis (Colleen), granddaughter Lisa (Tom), and great-grandsons Lucas and Dylan. She was preceded in death by first husband Kenneth R. Beach, their infant son and grown daughter Shirley A. Beach. She was also preceded in death by second husband Jerry P. Harrington and daughter Virginia C. Harrington. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, June 22, 2017 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Odessa. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local Alzheimer's organization or to a charity of your choice.
