Thomas Hayes

Thomas Jon Hayes, 59, of Montour Falls, NY, died on May 2, 2026.

He was born in Montour Falls, NY on May 18, 1966, the son of Charles A. Hayes and Ruth O. Hayes. Tommy graduated from Odessa-Montour High School. 

Tommy was a lifelong farmer and a gentle giant of a man with a big heart to match. He loved all animals, but especially his cows. He loved time on his farm, long conversations and, like most farmers, a good, hearty homemade meal. Tommy will be missed by his family and many friends.

Tom is survived by his mother, Ruth O. Hayes; sister, Susan Hayes (Douglas Miles); brothers, Stephen Hayes and Michael Hayes (Patricia); 10 nieces and nephews and many cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Charles A. Hayes.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, May 18, 2026 from 5:30-7:00 pm at Vedder-Scott & Zinger Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls, NY.
