Thomas J. Peters, 72, of Odessa, NY, entered Heaven on Friday, October 14, 2022. He was born in Montour Falls on May 3, 1950 and graduated from Odessa-Montour Central School in 1968. Tom was an electrician and assembler of cranes and hoists at Shepard Niles, Inc. for 26 years, retiring in November of 1994. He served his community as a member and past chief of the Odessa Fire Department, past deputy fire coordinator in Schuyler County, a member of FASNY, a member and former officer with I.A.M Union, and a member of the Mechanics Club in Montour Falls. Tom is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carol L. Peters; and by his daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia L. and Steve Vercelloni of Lakewood, CA. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, October 20, 2022 from 4:00-6:00 pm at Vedder-Scott & Zinger Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls, NY. A memorial service will follow at 6:00 pm. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Odessa Fire Department, 1928 County Road 15, Odessa, NY 14869.
