Timothy G. Carlton

Timothy G. Carlton, 76, passed away peacefully at home on June 18, 2026 surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on June 7, 1950, in Syracuse, New York, Tim was the son of Harold E. and Norma Jean Carlton. He graduated from Southside High School in 1968 and later attended SUNY Oswego.

On June 13, 1981, Tim married the love of his life, Phyllis D. Carlton. Together they built a beautiful life over 45 years of marriage.

Tim dedicated much of his professional life to New York State Parks, where he served as a manager. He took pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic.

Earlier in life, Tim worked alongside his father in the family bakery, an experience that helped shape the hardworking and dependable man he became.

A talented craftsman and artist, Tim designed and built the log cabin home where he and his family lived. He found joy in creating with his hands, whether wood burning mushrooms, drawing, or painting. Music was another passion, and he loved playing guitar.

Every September he looked forward to his annual fishing trip to the Adirondacks, a tradition he treasured. He also enjoyed hiking, golfing, and spending time in nature.

Tim loved his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Phyllis; his daughter, Elyse Baker and her husband, Judah; his son, Christopher Carlton and his wife, Blanca; and his beloved grandchildren, Ariel, Audrey, and Isabelle Baker; Ethan and Caleb Carlton.

He is also survived by his sisters, Susan Carlton, Julie Ferris, and Janet (Milo) Osmun. Tim was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Norma Carlton.

Those who knew Tim will remember his creativity, knowledge, sarcastic humor, and excellent storytelling.

There will be a celebration of life on June 27th, 2026 at 1:00pm at The Gathering; 72 W. Tioga St. Spencer, NY.

Memorial contributions may be made to Renovation House in Spencer, NY.
