Tyler J. Churchill, 23, of Elmira, passed away unexpectedly while with a close friend on Saturday, June 25, 2022. He was born in Binghamton, NY on November 19, 1998. Tyler attended Watkins Glen High School. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends and family, playing the guitar, loved the outdoors, olives, spoiling his sisters and spending time with his nieces and nephews. He made sure everyone around him was happy. Tyler had an unmistakable smile that could brighten anyone's day and a contagious laugh that was recognizable even in the most crowded room. He is survived by his mother, Stephanie Kelley of Elmira; brother, Dylan Churchill of Corning; sisters, Jalyssa and Maleia Bohart of Corning; grandmother, Carol Churchill; default grandmother, Laurie Landon; longtime girlfriend, Haileigh Delzell; aunts and uncles, Heather Overly Simpson, Misty Overly Congdon(Gary)and their children, Gary Tuttle, Greg Tuttle, Gretta (Judson) Smith, Diane (Calvin) Carl; cousins, Micaela (Austin) Thompson, Gianni Vickio, Jordan (Jordan Anne) Tuttle, Courtney (Dalton) Plumley, Brittany Tuttle, Laurie, Linsey and Diane Tuttle, Haleigh (Justin) Porter, Harmonei Tuttle, Stella Zafonte; and his beloved nieces and nephews Sutton, Cayton, Layne, Liam, Jolene and Ellie. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Ernie Churchill, and Roger and Donna Kelley. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, July 10, 2022 from 1-2 pm at Vedder-Scott & Zinger Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls, NY followed by a memorial service at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to FLACRA-Watkins Glen Outpatient Clinic, 106 S. Perry St. #3, Watkins Glen, NY 14891, as Tyler struggled with addiction since he was 16 years old.
