Virginia M. Peters, 78, of Odessa, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2022. She was born in Ithaca, New York on October 12, 1943, the daughter of the late Carl and Irma (Boyce) Pertl and graduated from Odessa-Montour High School. Virginia worked at Schuyler Hospital for over 40 years. She was a member of the Montour Moose Lodge. Virginia liked to travel and was always up for an adventure. She loved to help people. She is survived by her three daughters, Lorraine Cole (Tom Mallow) of Horseheads, Tracy Fitzpatrick of Odessa and Heather Goossen (Jack McCauley) of Montour Falls; two step children, Brian Peters of Montour Falls and Karen (Joe) McLaine of Newfield; two grandsons, Ryan (Kelli) Goossen of TN and Tyler Goossen of FL ; and two great grandsons, Declan Goossen and Derrick Eddington. She was predeceased by her husband, Jim Peters in 2000. A celebration of Virginia's life will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at 2:00 pm at the Montour Moose Lodge, 2096 State Route 14, Montour Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
