Walter B. Croft, Sr., 74, of Montour Falls, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Cayuga Medical Center. He was born in Montour Falls on January 30, 1941, the son of the late Clifford and Marie Crandall Croft, and attended Odessa-Montour Schools. Walter retired from NYS Department of Transportation and was a lifetime member of the Mechanics Club. He was predeceased by his wife Gail Croft, and two sisters, Shirley Croft and Connie Caslin. Walter is survived by his children, Melanie Croft of Elmira, Walter B. Croft, Jr. of Montour Falls, Marlene Croft (Ralph Stoothoff) of Montour Falls, and William (Mary) Croft of Alpine; brothers, Richard Croft of Odessa and Clifford Croft of Montour Falls; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 from 2-4 pm at Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls. A reception will be held immediately after at the Mechanics Club in Montour Falls. Graveside services will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery in the spring at the convenience of the family.
