Wellington R. Doane, Jr., 62, of Odessa, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2016 at home. He was born in Montour Falls on December 11, 1953, the son of the late Wellington R. Doane, Sr. and Carol Doane. He graduated from Odessa-Montour Schools and was employed through the Carpenters Local Union 277 for 26 years, retiring in January of 2016. Wellington was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He is survived by his wife, Carol A. (Black) Doane; daughter, Jamie R. Smith of Odessa; step son, Richard S. Smith of Beaver Dams; sisters, Charlotte Carpenter and Carolyn Christianson; four grandchildren, Brittany Smith, Cody Smith, Joey Glossenger and Connor Fiala. He was predeceased by a sister, Sharon Neidlein. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, May 28, 2016 from 1-3 pm at Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls.
