William "Bill" Tex Atwood, Sr., age 88, of Montour Falls, NY, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Bill was born on December 24, 1936 in Lincklaen, NY to the late Robert L. and Myrtle L. (Bliss) Atwood. Bill is predeceased by his parents, five brothers, a sister, and 2 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife, Nola; by sons, Michael (Connie) of Montour Falls, NY, and Timothy, William Jr., and Edward (Heather), all of Horseheads, NY; stepson, Trenton (Suzanne) of Granby, MO; daughters, Bonnie (Joe) of Grand Rapids, MI and Debra (Harvey) of Palm Harbor, FL; sisters, Betty Jane (Jim) of Salina, OK and Nada (William) of Prospect, OR; along with 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Bill and Nola were married nearly 40 years ago, on October 18, 1985 in Joplin, MO. Bill was a maintenance electrician, having been employed locally at the A&P Plant, Facet, and Cardinal Scale. He was a very active member of the Agape Bible Church in Ithaca, NY. Bill also served as a deacon for 20 years, focusing on nursing home ministry. Above all, Bill loved his family, his friends, and his church community. Bill's family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of both Robert Packer and Arnot Ogden Hospitals for their kindness.
