William J. "Sonny" Dickens, age 76 of Alpine passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 29th. Sonny was born on March 26, 1936 to Frank H. & Grace Roleson Dickens in Montour Falls. Sonny lived his youth in Mecklenburg and Alpine area. Sonny was predeceased by his wife, Carolyn Ellis Dickens, brother-in-law, Robert Ellis, parents, Frank and Grace Dickens and his "foster" father Loyal Wickham. He is survived by his daughters, Jolee (Chris) Carlisle, Jamee (Heath) Mack, Loree Dickens and Marcee Young. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Colin and Madelyn Carlisle, Karlee Dickens, Lacee Eldridge, Stephan Dickens, Brianna Paige, Amy & Abby Young, great grand-son, Ryder Oney and nieces Kemberlea and Jennifer. Sonny enjoyed NASCAR racing and OMCS sports. Family will receive friends Thursday, January 3rd at 2:00 with a service following at 3:00 PM at Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122 N.
