William R. Templar, age 94, passed away to be with his family in his heavenly home on November 28, 2024. William was born March 5, 1930, the son of Clayton S. and Ruth (Spaulding) Templar.

William is predeceased by his parents; loving wife of 55 years, Carole (Sturdavent) Templar; brother and sister-in-law, Clayton S. and Mary Jane Templar; sisters and brother-in-laws, Gloria and Cyril Barrell, along with Shirley and Ritchie Cassada; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, John and Joyce (Sturdavent) Semski.

He is survived by his special, loving nieces and nephews; and lifelong friends Heinz and Anna Riderer.

William graduated from Elmira Free Academy and Elmira College. He served in the United Stated Army, during the Korean War. He made his career in banking , locally, at Marine Midland Bank. William and Carole then moved to Hilton Head Island, where he continued his banking and real estate broker careers.

William was active in several community organizations, including the American Legion, the Korean War Veteran Association, the National World War II Museum, UCT and the Jeepers Club.

The family would like to thank Seneca View Nursing Home for the special care given to our Uncle Bill.

Military honors and committal service will take place at Beaufort National Cemetery in South Carolina on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at 2:00 pm.
